Since the invention of transistor at Bell Laboratories in 1947, the field of electronics has grown exponentially and it continues to grow. From a simple 1-transistor IC, now the field is witnessing million transistor ICs. Similarly, the communication engineering has progressed tremendously from the days of Alexander Graham Bell. Together these two areas touch upon every phase of human life.
The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication was established in the year 2010 to impart the quality education to the budding engineers. As, 21st century is the century of communication and competition, our main motto is to produce graduates who will be technically sound, well cultured and globally competent. Currently our department is offering B.E. course in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering with the intake of 60 and Masters Program in Signal Processing with the intake of 24. The strength of the department is its well qualified and experienced faculty members & supporting staff with state-of “art laboratories & center of excellences.
As far as the Department is concerned, academic standards and practical work are the two key parameters. The Department of E & TC has a fine blend of renowned as well as young and dynamic personalities as faculty, who are involved in imparting quality education. The faculty strives to foster and encourage a teaching methodology that is both practical and theoretical in approach. This orientation has led to successful projects and trainings.
The lab facilities are being upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for the students to learn and innovate. The Department is fully equipped with all the labs required for the curriculum like Digital Communication/Analogue Communication Lab, Test & Measurement/Power Electronics Lab, DSP/Digital Electronics Lab, EDC/ICA Lab, Central Computing Lab, Research Lab for PG students, Embedded System Lab, etc. Specialized knowledge is imparted regarding simulation of various processes using ORCAD, MATLAB, DSP, Microwave engineering, VLSI design tools etc.
For the extra curriculum activities, Departmental society ˜ASSET has been established by the students. This society conducts various technical and cultural events regularly. Engineers are the creators of the new world. Going with these lines the Department has the fully equipped Project lab to encourage the students to show their creativity. Educational tours and industrial visits are regularly organized to enhance the practical knowledge of the students and to interact with the recent technologies used in the industries.
The Department has been consistently working towards the goal to produce highly skilled and scientifically oriented manpower through flexible, adaptive and progressive training programs along with cohesive interaction with the research organizations, academicians and industries.
